Veterinary Referral Center is 30 miles west of Philadelphia, in serene Chester County, PA.  We have a 25,000 sq. foot, new state-of-the-art facility offering a 24 hour emergency service with a dedicated Intensive Care Unit opening in March 2008.

Our hospital offers several different shifts that work with most schedules; allowing for a balance between home, school, and work.

NursingOur Emergency Department is fast paced and dynamic.  Our treatment room is just under 200 sq feet with several spacious work areas and vaulted ceilings with sky lights.  We are fully capable and equipped to handle any feline and canine   emergency.  We provide our patients with ekg machines, pulse oximetry, and various non-invasive blood pressure machines. In addition to our monitoring equipment, we also utilize our oxygen cages, defibrillator, temporary pacemakers, Nova arterial blood analyzer, COP analyzers, SCA2000 coagulation machine, controlled drug dispensing computer and a state-of-the-art surgical suite. We are capable of giving whole blood transfusions, and have packed red blood cells and plasma on site.  To provide our patients with the highest standard of care, our two x-ray and fluoroscopy units will be updated in 2008 to accommodate digital radiology.  The ES is staffed 24 hours a day with either board certified emergency and critical care clinicians or specialized veterinarians in emergency medicine.  We are currently looking for highly motivated and skilled technicians to join our knowledgeable nursing team, as well as enthusiastic and motivated recent graduates who wish to specialize their skills

Our state-of-the-art ICU will be opening in March 2008.  The ICU will be equipped with two large dog oxygen cage that are humidity and temperature controlled, as well as conventional methods of oxygen delivery.  We also outfit our patients with machines capable of performing electrocardiograms, central venous pressure, direct arterial and noninvasive blood pressure, pulse oximetry and capnography.  The ICU will be staffed by board certified critical care clinicians and we are looking for highly skilled and knowledgeable technicians to help care for our most critical and challenging patients.  Recent graduates will have to opportunity to develop their foundation of critical care skills and knowledge.

Current available positions:

Emergency Service

            Full-time hours:

                             Three 12 hour shift per week, Sat, sun, Mon 12-12am beginning October.

                             Three 12 hour overnight shifts per week, 8p-8a Saturday, Sunday, and Monday

Part-time hours:

Tuesday to Friday 8-2p, 4p-12a

Saturday and Sunday 8-4 and 4-12a.

Intensive Care Unit

          Full Time Hours:


                           Four 10 hour shifts, Tuesday through Friday 10p-8a
