Veterinary ophthalmology is a field dedicated to diagnosing and treating diseases of the eye and the surrounding tissues. Goals of treating include preserving both vision and comfort for your pet’s eyes.
Many ophthalmic diseases can be managed medically, but if surgery is necessary, the department is equipped with state-of-the-art anesthesia monitoring, operating microscope and lasers, and the most advanced cataract machine in the area. Dr. Beale will make sure that you understand your options and will work closely with your referring veterinarian to find the best treatment for you and your pet.
Surgical management ranges from removing eyelid masses or abnormal hairs (distichia) to repairing ruptured eyes and removing cataracts to restore vision.
