Veterinary Referral Center (hereafter “VRC”) in Malvern, Pennsylvania is very pleased to announce the recent addition of Avril U. Arendse, DVM (hereafter “Dr. Arendse”) to our veterinary staff to provide you with a source for veterinary neurology and neurosurgery services for your clients’ pets. Dr. Arendse will be available at VRC for consultations and surgeries from Tuesday through Friday of each week and is available for emergency consultation thought the emergency service at VRC. Dr. Arendse and her family immigrated to the United States when she was eight (8) years old from Johannesburg, South Africa. She grew up in the Northern Virginia area and attended George Mason University, where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in biology. Dr. Arendse attended Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine, where she became interested in the fields of neurology and physical rehabilitation. Dr Arendse then completed an internship and residency in veterinary neurology and neurosurgery at the University of Tennessee. The University of Tennessee is the leading University in training for Veterinary Physical Rehabilitation. Dr. Arendse has successfully completed the general exam for her neurology certification and will soon be taking the specialty portion of this exam. Along with treating all neurologic medical and surgical disease, Dr. Arendse has a special interest in treating congenital malformations of the brain and spinal cord. Early diagnosis and appropriate management of neurologic disease is key to allowing for a long good quality of life especially with congenital diseases. Dr Arendse and VRC hope we can demystify the neurologic system and its many confusing diseases. |
