Dr. Blazejewski is a native of Newtown Square,
Pennsylvania. He received a BA in
Biology at Gettysburg College in 1975 and his VMD from the University of Pennsylvania,
School of Veterinary Medicine in 1980. After 25
years in general small animal and exotic practice in
Southeast, Pa., Dr. Blazejewski completed a residency program in the
busy Dentistry and Oral Surgery Department at the
Matthew
J Ryan
Veterinary
Hospital
of the
University
of Pennsylvania
in 2007. He has published an article detailing the
appropriate use and technique of full quadrant extractions
in the feline, in the Journal of Veterinary Dentistry. His
residency research was exploring the value of rapid,
non-invasive cytology methods for the identification of oral
tumors. Dr. Blazejewski has been instrumental in elucidating
a newly recognized jaw disease manifested in growing large
breed puppies.
Dr Blazejewski was board certified in April 2008 by the
American Veterinary Dental
College.
With his arrival at VRC, a new
department has been established, dedicated to treating all
aspects of oral health, both medical and surgical, from
periodontal and endodontic disease, to cancer surgery and
jaw fracture repair. In-house dental radiography, an
essential technique for oral disease diagnosis and
treatment, is now available at VRC. Having a perfect bite is
not essential, but providing pets with pain-free functional
dentition and a healthy mouth, should be a goal for every
pet owner and veterinarian.
Dr Blazejewski is a member of the
American Veterinary Medical Association, the Pennsylvania
Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Veterinary
Dental Society.
His practice is limited to dentistry and oral surgery.
